Who is an HVAC Parts Technician?
An HVAC technician is a professional that labors in the field of heating, ventilation, air conditioning service and support. He or she can both install and repair systems, as well as maintaining them. He or she may work as an independent contractor or be employed by a company that specializes in climate control solutions for businesses and residential properties.

What is an HVAC?
While the Energy Center usually tries to avoid the use of acronyms, HVAC is in common use in the heating and cooling industry. It stands for "heating, ventilation and air conditioning," three functions often combined into one system in today's modern homes and buildings. Warmed or cooled or dehumidified air flows through a series of tubes - called ducts - to be distributed to all the rooms of your house. A central HVAC system is the most quiet and convenient way to cool an entire home.

Unless you live in an amazingly temperate climate, the HVAC system in your home uses more energy and drains more energy dollars than any other system in your home. Typically, 44 percent of your utility bill goes for heating and cooling.

Like many other appliances, HVAC systems have improved in energy efficiency in the last decade. As a result, you can save money and increase your comfort by properly maintaining and upgrading your HVAC equipment.

What are different kinds of hvacs?
There are a lot of different types of air conditioners which can fit for your specific needs. Few of them are :

Ductless Air Conditioners
These types of air conditioners are also known as packaged thermal air conditioners. The air conditioning unit is split into two terminal units. One is called the condensing unit and the other is the evaporative unit. One of the biggest advantages to this type of air conditioner is that it is smaller and easy to install. Since they have no ducts, this type of unit avoids losing energy like those with ducts do.

Central Air Conditioning
Having a central air conditioning unit has many benefits. There are different sizes available to cool off any size home. It is always important to get the proper sized system for your home because one that is too small will not cool your home properly. When many people are getting their homes repaired, many times they will have their air conditioning upgraded to central air conditioning because it really is one of the best choices. It runs quietly, it does not have to be placed in a window, and it lasts much longer.

Window Air Conditioners
One of the most common air conditioner types are window air conditioners. This type of air conditioner has a self-contained air conditioning unit that is placed in a window. All of the refrigerator components are included in this one box. Hot air is blown out of the end sticking out of the window and cool air is blown out of the part inside the room. Window air conditioners are typically most efficient when used for single rooms and homes that are smaller.

Portable Air Conditioners
This type of air conditioner has wheels and is made to be moved from room to room. It does not need to be installed into a window to work. There are a lot of benefits to having portable air conditioners. They are the ideal solution for rooms that are not easily cooled, such as a kitchen. They do not require professional installation and they are generally a more inexpensive choice than window units. The only downfall to this kind of air conditioner is that it is noisy when it is running.

Wall Air Conditioners
This type of air conditioner is very similar to the window units, and has the same functions. Instead of being installed in a window, these systems are installed in a wall. Wall air conditioners are effective at cooling single rooms and require a sleeve to be installed in the wall to handle the weight of the air conditioner. These are great for those that do not want to give up their windows for an air conditioner, or for those rooms that do not have windows ideal for units.

Are all HVACs energy efficient?
Depending on what type of air conditioner you have, it may or may not be energy efficient. One of the main features why ductless split systems are so popular is because of the fact that they are energy efficient. We have units as high as SEER 27 on single zones and as high as SEER 23 on Multizones. Ductless split air conditioners and heat pump are one of the most energy efficient type of systems that are available in the industry today.
